Idodidid(Iddo Drevijn) & Free Roaming (Efrim Bartosik & Vanessa Kalkman) presenteren ‘BY BY’. Recentelijk bezochten zij Belarus, dat bekend staat als de laatst overgebleven dictatuur in Europa. De goeddeels negatieve beeldvorming is de reden waarom dit land onbemind is gebleven. Het grillige politieke klimaat heeft het land veroordeeld tot een anonieme rol van betekenis. Maar achter de door het regime zelf opgeworpen façade schuilt een aparte cultuur. ‘BY BY’ zal de geest verruimen en de positieve kanten op eigenzinnige wijze belichten. Met gevoel voor humor doorbreekt de tentoonstelling de zwaarmoedigheid, met als ultiem doel de bestaande vooroordelen over Wit-Rusland enigszins weg te nemen.


Idodidid (Iddo Drevijn) & Free Roaming (Efrim Bartosik & Vanessa Kalkman) present ‘BY BY’. Recently they visited Belarus, which is informally known to be the last dictatorship in Europe. Because of the construction of a predominantly negative foreign image this country has remained mostly unloved.
The unpredictable political climate has condemned Belarus to an anonymous role of significance. But hidden behind the regimes self-imposed facade is an extraordinary interesting culture. ‘BY BY’ intends to broaden the mind and to highlight the positive sides in a peculiar way. With a good sense of humor this exhibition breaks through the bleakness with its ultimate goal being the elimination of the existing prejudices against Belarus.
